St. Simons Island – Jekyll Island Fishing Reports February 2018

Had a few days of great weather last week. We were able to get out with some great clients and do some sight fishing. The shallow flats around St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, and Sea Island Georgia offer some excellent sight fishing opportunities during winter months.  Clear water, light winds, and a high sun are key ingredients for a successful day on the water. Our prefered rods are 7-9wt with weight forward floating lines.  One of our favorite lines is the new Scientific Anglers Amplitude Grand Slam line. Flies vary and size does matter this time of year.  In winter months we find that smaller flies seem to work much better than the larger flies we use in warmer months.  If you enjoy shallow water sight fishing don’t wait any more. February and March are great months and we still do have a few days open.    Southeastern Angling offers fishing trips from St. Simons Island fishing year round and also depart from Jekyll Island.  If you are interested in booking a trip you can call us at 877-605-3474 or click HERE
