Sunday in St. Simons Island Georgia was just an incredible day that brought 3 days of great fishing with Nels, Mark, and David to an end. We started the day off fishing the low incoming tide and the reds on the flats were eager to eat. We had 13 fish from 25 to 33 inches in a short time and headed to catch some monster bull redfish before targeting trout. We got set up and started off with a few small sharks before the bite turned on. A drag screamed and I saw the rod jerk several time and knew it was what we were after. After a few great runs our first bull redfish of the day was boat side. After that it was wide open and in 2 hours we landed 15 from 40 to 46 inches. The guys even let me reel in one! Then the tide slowed and the bite stopped so I suggested trout. Trout you say? After redfish from 4 to 40 pound? Yup I said thats how we roll! So we were off and the trash talking started. As I dropped the Power Pole and everyone got a rod it was on. It was 3:30pm and at 6:15pm we were out of bait. Sundays total???? 138 trout, 15 bull redfish, and 13 smaller redfish!!!! What a day! To Nels, Mark, and David I would like to say great job and thanks for 3 enjoyable days on the water with you guys. I look forward to seeing you soon and oh yah if needed “putting on another clinic for yah”
