Florida Keys fishing
Like the Tarpon I have made my spring migration down to my home in the lower Florida Keys. It’s been a great start to tarpon season this May and the bonefish and permit have also been eager to play. Well placed flies have fooled ocean side tarpon while live shrimp and crabs have proved affective for bonefish and permit on back country flats. If you have never fished for tarpon in the keys it should be on your bucket list. The area from Big Pine Key to Key West is some of the most productive flats in the world. There are not many other places you can catch possible catch a 10 pound bonefish, a 20lb permit, and a 100 pound tarpon all within sight of one another.
