Saint Simons Island Fly Fishing Report
I had the pleasure of fishing some long time clients in the shallows this past weekend for some Saint Simons Island Fly Fishing. We dealt with some clouds and pretty serious winds that were not in the forecast, but managed quite a few shots on some laid up redfish, shallow cruising reds, and a few jittery schools as well.
This exceptionally warm winter has apparently hindered the redfish from forming giant schools we are accustomed to in winter months. We are still seeing plenty of smaller schools and laid up fish making fine targets for the fly angler. Look for reds to become more active throughout the tide cycles for now. Due to warmer than usual weather I expect we will have some tripletail around to targe in the upcoming weeks.
