Jekyll Island Fishing Charters
Crisp, cool winter sunsets are hard to beat. It’s been a bit breezy the first half of December for the most part. The fish have been cooperating however, with plenty of trout action the first week of the month. The Redfish bite has been fantastic especially on the colder days. Fish are bunched up tight right now and once you locate them, they are quite abundant. The cooler water temps will push the larger groups of fish into deeper water and “hidey holes”, and fishing should remain strong for the next couple of months during the slower parts of the tide.
We did have a few calm and sunny periods out there and we got our first taste of big schools of winter redfish in super shallow and clear water. Happy, hungry fish in clear shallow water is a recipe for success! This fishery will only improve throughout the winter months.
The reefs just off of the beach will continue to hold plenty of tasty black sea bass, weakfish, and bull reds. It’s just a short ride offshore for fast action whenever conditions allow. We have plenty of winter dates available, so give us a call and lets get out there! –Capt. Rob
