Scott Owens Florida Fishing Reports

Fishing report for the Florida Keys and Everglades April-May.

This report covers why Spring is a busy time in the lower Keys (Big Pine – Key West) and Everglades.  Anglers will find tarpon start their seasonal migration up the coast on both the Atlantic and Gulf edges.  At this time, flats come alive as Permit return from their spawning grounds on nearshore wrecks.  Bonefish move along shallow flats in search of food.  Anglers can expect to find tailing fish and baby tarpon feeding aggressively during early morning hours. Once the sun is up site fishing large migrating schools Oceanside is where it’s at.
