After a great week with clear water, light winds, and high sun, this past weekend we were greeted by brisk North winds and heavy cloud cover along with stirred up water from heavy rains on Friday. Kyle, Chase, and Phillip were able to adapt to the conditions and made some good shots in front of pushing schools of reds and were rewarded with several quality fish. After fighting the conditions and blowing out some fish in the shallows, we switched gears and took our artificial lures to some deeper protected waters pitching potholes and wood cover. Of course the sun popped out and the last bit of our trip was gorgeous and spring like, but we stuck with the plan and found fat angry redfish as well as the first solid trout bite in a while landing around 15 fish. Hopefully the water temps will stay stable and we can get back in to a consistent trout bite sooner than later. That same afternoon, Captain Scott was rewarded with great sightfishing with the high sun catching some more quality reds. Some days you just need to adapt to what mother nature gives you.
